ELIGIBILITY OF STUDENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP IN LEX
The student to be inducted must demonstrate "superior academic performance” which is evidenced by an overall grade point average of at least 3.25, plus a grade point average in their paralegal classes of at least 3.50, to make membership in LEX a true and meaningful academic honor within the institution and a recognizable indication of superior academic achievement to members of the legal profession in the geographical area served by the institution. Students must also have completed at least 2/3 of their program requirements at the time of induction.
Student applications are made through SAC and not directly through LEX.

If you are accepted as of 9-18-2020, there are the following fees associated with the honor society (all fees are sent to LEX):
Induction fee is $50 (includes certificate, fee and induction)
Graduation sash is $35 (sash)
You will pay this money to the SAC student business accounts, and the account number is 81-8691-9570.
What is LEX?
Lambda Epsilon Chi (LEX) is a national academic honor society for paralegal students. Sponsored by the American Association for Paralegal Education (AAfPE), the society offers students national scholarship opportunities, participation in regional, state and local conferences, and networking opportunities with other legal professionals.
Candidates for membership in Lambda Epsilon Chi must be in good academic standing at Santa Ana College and have completed at least two-thirds of their paralegal coursework. Candidates also must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher in their paralegal coursework.

Attention Paralegal Students:
If you are expecting to graduate Fall 2023, Spring or Summer of 2024, and if you are interested in applying for Lambda Epsilon Chi, please apply by Thursday, May 9th at 5:00 PM.

If you are accepted there are the following fees associated with the honor society:

You will be notified if you qualify for induction, and you must pay the fee at that point.
