Bachelor’s in Accounting:
If you have obtained a bachelor's in accounting you are close to meeting the educational requirements for the CPA license. Based upon the typical courses that an accounting major takes at most 4-year universities in California, you most likely will only need to complete the
Certificate in Professional Accounting – Accounting Study and Ethics (30 Units). This certificate can be completed in either
1 year (fast track) or
2 years (regular track).
Not too sure of what courses you need to still take to fulfill the education requirements for the CPA license? Be sure to review the
tipsheet and course
worksheet from the California Board of Accountancy.
Next steps:
- Review schedule pathways:
regular &
fast track to confirm which option will work with your schedule.
-
Apply to Santa Ana College
- According to the schedule pathway you selected, make sure to
register
NOTE: THE ABOVE IS INTENDED SOLELY FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES. THE ULTIMATE ACCEPTANCE OF COURSES TO MEET THE EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT IS ULTIMATELY DETERMINED BY THE CALIFORNIA STATE BOARD OF ACCOUTANCY. IT IS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL APPLICANT TO MAKE THE ASSESSMENT AS TO COURSES REQUIRED.
