ALTERNATE MEDIA

Students with verifiable disabilities will be able to have their print materials and textbooks converted to electronic text, Braille, large print, tactile graphics or audio recordings (RFB&D). Faculty may contact Alternate Media for closed captioning of videos and assistance with access strategies for their students with disabilities.

Students with speech, hearing, language, and medically verifiable brain impairments may receive assistance with program planning, registration, assessment, individual, small group or computer assisted instruction.

The Learning Disabilities Program provides assessment and academic accommodations for continuing education students with significant learning deficits. Students with physical and other disabilities benefit from accommodations and services specific to their qualifying needs.

The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program and Services office provides specialized services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing based on their educational needs.

Students who are Developmentally Delayed Learners receive support services to help them function as independently and successfully as possible in the college environment.

Programs for students with learning deficits severe enough to affect classroom performance, are offered  at Santa Ana College.  Assessment and academic accommodations are provided.

Services include registration assistance, parking, elevator/gate passes, Adapted P.E. instructional equipment loans, wheelchair loans, personal and academic advisement, mobility and test taking assistance.

The Psychological Disabilities Program is designed to support and assist students with mental and emotional disorders who are attempting to function more independently.
