Enrolled students must e-mail the instructor the first week of class.

Course Description: Microscopic, macroscopic and dynamic view of the human physiological processes.  The lecture portion includes a thorough consideration of both “cell and systems” physiology.  Lab work includes the use of techniques used in basic research, an introduction to the use of standard medical equipment and the performance of medical lab tests. Non-invasive experiments are performed on students enrolled in the class. (Requires concurrent enrollment in Biology 249L Lab.)

  • Platform: Windows 98, 2000, XP, Vista / Mac OS 9 or higher.
  • Minimum Hardware Requirements: 64 MB of RAM, 1 GB of free disk space.
  • Modem: 56 k modem or higher.
  • Browser: For best results, we recommend Internet Explorer 6.x Service Pack 1, or 7.x (PC); Safari 1.x (Mac).

  • Browser Settings: JavaScript & Cookies must be enabled.
  • Software: Requirements for applications and plug-ins depend on the types of files a user needs to view from Blackboard. Some of the most common: Microsoft Office applications or viewers, Adobe Acrobat Reader, RealPlayer, QuickTime, Flash Player.

You will need to have prior Internet and E-mail experience before you take this course.  If you do not have access to a computer, you may use the Academic Computing Center or Library during their operating hours.  The resources in these labs meet the course resource requirements and there is technical support available.

Exams

You Must come to the Santa Ana College campus to take the course exams on the dates and times indicated on your class calendar.  The calendar is uploaded on the Blackboard website for your class.  The calendar may also be accessed before Blackboard entry is allowed through the Human Physiology home page set up for prospective students. this page is located at:

Important - College Policies

Drop for non-payment

Enrollment fees must be paid IN FULL within three business days of registration or you will be dropped for non-payment. The date that you register counts as the first business day.

Student Responsibility to drop classes

Students who cannot continue in a course have an obligation to withdraw officially through the Admissions and Records Office.  You can contact the Admissions Office to confirm withdrawal dates or check the Section Information area in WebAdvisor for your individual course(s).
