We Need Your Help...

Over 19,000 children visit the Tessmann Planetarium each year. But many schools are finding it difficult to send their students on field trips in these challenging
economic times.

Help support science and astronomy
education in southern California. Your contribution may help inspire the next
Carl Sagan or Albert Einstein.

Make a difference in a child's life and contribute to to the Planetarium's
endowment fund.

Send our students on a
tour of the universe...

Our Program

  • Our astronomy programs stress the K-12 State of California Science Content Standards.

  • Each of our one-hour shows take attendees on a trip through the Solar System and beyond.

  • The principles of scientific method, gravity and the importance of our nearest star, the Sun, are stressed through interactive programs coupled with lively question and answer sessions.

For more information about our programming, click here.

Download,  in PDF format, our Tessmann Planetarium Teacher's Handout and  Student Reference guides.

Help Build a Bridge to the Universe!

To help us better serve the community, all you have to do is send a letter to three people:

  • Chairman James Walsh of the Subcommittee on VA/HUD and Independent Agencies

  • Congressman Dana Rohrabacher

  • Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez

Just click on this link PlanetariumLetters.doc, download the file, personalize 3 versions of the letter, attach stamps, and mail them off.
