CITY AGENCIES

City of Anaheim - The city of Anaheim is now accepting applications for the position of Experience Police Officer and Academy Graduate.  Experienced Police Officer must be in possession of a P.O.S.T. City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Lateral Police Officer.  Salary range is $4,666 to $6,565 (Master Officer Program increase to $7,982 effective July 2007) Per Month (Lateral Police Officers typically start at or above their current salary). City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Police Recruit - Academy Trained Police Officer.  Upon completion of the academy salary range will be $4,666 to $6,565 Per Month (Master Officer Program increase to $7,982 effective July 2007).   Employees in this classification who are not already California police academy graduates will attend a police academy.  Police academy training is approximately 6 months in length and is intensive and highly disciplined. City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Reserve Police Officer.  Salary Range is $18.97 to $26.70 Per Hour.  Successful candidates will have the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and citizens of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds; the mental capacity to learn a wide variety of tasks and applications; and the maturity to remain calm and provide leadership in emotionally charged situations. The Reserve Police Officer primarily works prisoner transportation assignments and other duties. City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Police Community Services Officer.  Salary Range is $3,028 to $4,697 Per Month.  This is an entry level and highly responsible position in the Police Department performing complex duties involving contact with the general public both by phone and in person. City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Police Cadet.  Salary range is $9.35 to $11.37 Per Hour.  The City of Newport Beach is offering qualified candidates the opportunity to train for an early entry into the field of Law Enforcement. Assignments in Patrol, Detectives, Traffic, Records, and other tasks are designed to give each Cadet a thorough introduction to a career in law enforcement. Cadet’s work part-time during the school year and potentially full-time during the summer. Working hours will be scheduled so not to conflict with school schedules. City of Newport Beach - The city of Newport Beach is now accepting applications for Police Intern.  This is a volunteer position.  The City of Newport Beach is offering qualified candidates the opportunity to obtain college credit for serving an internship with the Police Department. The internship program has been designed to meet college internship requirements for the Criminal Justice, law enforcement or Public Administration related field major. Those selected for the program will gain valuable insight into the daily functions of a police department and at the same time, satisfy their college internship requirement. City of Pomona - The city of Pomona is now accepting applications for the position of Lateral Police Officer.  The salary range is $5,075 – $6,197 per month.  The Pomona Police Department is recruiting men and women who are current peace officers with a California law enforcement agency.  Following an orientation and five-phase training program, officers will perform general police duties and other responsibilities as assigned.  Applicant must submit a copy of their Basic P.O.S.T. Certificate issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training at the time of application.  Must be currently employed and in good standing with a California law enforcement agency. City of South Pasadena - The city of South Pasadena is now accepting applications for Police Officer (Entry Level, Pre-Service, or Lateral).  Salary range is $4070 - $4947 monthly.  Officers will be primarily assigned to their own district and will be individually responsible for problem resolution within their assigned area, as well as for response to calls for service citywide.  The city's size (3.4 square miles) and population (25,000 residents) allow for individual interaction with the residents and businesses we serve.  Police officers who are assigned to patrol shifts work a 3-12 schedule. City of Tustin - The city of Tustin is now accepting applications for position of Police Officer - Reserve.  The city is hiring both Police Reserve Officer I and II.    In this series, Police Officer I (non-designated) is the most advanced classification and Police Reserve Officer II is the intermediate classification.  Level I incumbents may perform general law enforcement duties without immediate supervision; a Level I Reserve Officer is non-designated and has peace officer authority only for the duration of their specific assignment.  In order to qualify for the Level I position a person must first successfully complete a POST certified Basic Academy and a POST-approved Field Training Program; a Level II candidate must successfully complete a Level III and Level II POST certified Reserve modules.  Salary range is $14.74-22.70.  To obtain more information please visit the city of Tustin's website at http://www.tustinca.org

City of Tustin - The city of Tustin is now accepting applications for position of Police Cadet.  The cadet program introduces young men and women, ages 18-22, to the field of law enforcement.  The program is designed to develop the skills and abilities of young individuals who wish to one day pursue a career in law enforcement  Individuals work part-time while enrolled in college in a variety of assignment throughout the police department including, but not limited to, Front desk, Professional Standards Unit, Community Policing Unit, Communications, Investigations, Traffic, Property, Records, Crime Scene Investigation and Fleet Maintenance.  Work hours are typically assigned around the student's class schedule; approximately 20 hours per week during school months and up to 40 hours per week during summer and / or school breaks (total hours worked must be less than 1000 hours per fiscal year).  Individuals may be assigned to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.  Salary range is $10.00-12.22.  To obtain more information please visit the city of Tustin's website at  http://www.tustinca.org (DEADLINE:  CONTINUOUS RECRUITMENT)
