Carly Westergard-Dobson

Carly Westergard-Dobson holds a B.A. in Art History from the University of California, Irvine and a M.F.A.​ in Dance from Mills College. She has trained predominantly in modern dance, but is also versed in ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, Scottish country dance and African dance forms. She has trained with instructors such as Jill Working, Sonya Delwiade, Heather Gillette, Shelley Senter, Molissa Fenley and Rachel Berman. 

As a dancing artist, Carly has had the opportunity to perform works choreographed by Sonya Delwaide, Lisa Wymore, Heather Gillette, Jenny Backhaus, Mike Esperanza and Kari Jensen. Her choreography has premiered at the American College Dance Festival (Baja Region 2011, 2012), Santa Ana College, Santa Barbara City College, Encore Dance Festival, and Platform Dance Festival.

As a dance educator, Carly has taught a variety of classes including modern dance, jazz dance, dance history, Pilates, beginning ballet, and yoga. She is also a certified Pilates instructor, trained under the direction of Rael Isacowitz, founder and director of Body Arts and Science International. She holds a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification from Cloud 9 Yoga and currently teaches yoga and Pilates throughout Orange County. At Santa Ana College, Carly teaches the online Dance History and Appreciation course, Dance 100, at Santa Ana College. ​
