The Santa Ana Partnership's Padres Promotores de la Educación is a program for parents, by parents - a truly grassroots effort with a fundamental mission:

Deliver information about school services and higher education in the name of hope and progress for the children of our community.

This is done primarily through non-traditional methods including home visitation and educational dialogues.  Since 2002 the Promotores have conducted over 3,500 home visits and trained over 150 parents.

One of the many projects this group has been dedicated to is the development of the Padre a Padre curriculum, an 8-lesson handbook detailing the road to higher education. Based on Santa Ana Unified graduation requirements along with the University of California and California State Universities admission guidelines, this curriculum sets the framework for potential projects by other communities.

Padre a Padre is available in both English and Spanish.  To view the English version click here.
