Subject: Revised SAC Mission
Statement
Dear Erlinda,
After a very integrated process of review, the IE&A Committee,
at its March 9, 2012 meeting, approves a revised mission statement for Santa
Ana College. We are now forwarding it for College Council review and approval.
I would be happy to attend any meetings you wish to explain the complete
process and the reasons for the changes.
Briefly, the recommendation for review came out of the Mid-Cycle
Planning Retreat discussion related to Task 1. After discussion with Table Team
1 representatives at an IE&A meeting, the recommended changes were refined.
At that point, the IE&A committee referred the revised statement to all
participatory governance committees for input. Input was received. The revised
statement was then discussed with the table team representatives from Table
Teams II-VI. By May 9th, discussion was complete, the statement
underwent further slight revision, and it was approved by IE&A.
Please see the proposed revision alongside the current mission
statement:
Current
