Library Guide for Students with Disabilities
In order to assure "reasonable accommodation" of students with disabilities, Nealley Library has collaborated with the Assistive Technology Center of DSPS (Disabled Students Programs and Services) to develop the following guidelines:
- Students requiring assistance in research or using electronic resources shall be referred to the reference desk where a librarian will either work immediately with the student or set up a research appointment for a future time.
- Library orientations for students with disabilities are held as needed.
- Two computer workstations, with special features to make computing more accessible to students with disabilities, are located across from the Reference area of the library. In addition to the standard workstation features, hardware on these workstations include an adjustable desk and monitor stand. Software includes the following: JAWS screen reader (headphones provided) and ZOOM TEXT Screen enlarger.
- Library users with disabilities, other than students, shall also be accommodated with reasonable assistance.
