Conditions and Requirements for Financial Aid Funds

Financial Aid funds offered in your financial aid offer notification are tentative.   Certain funds require additional processing steps before disbursement.  It is your responsibility to complete the process to ensure funds can be confirmed and disbursed to you.

  • All Offer- Your academic transcripts from all prior colleges/universities, in the U.S. and/or foreign countries, must be submitted to the Admissions office.  Notify Santa Ana College financial aid office upon submitting your transcripts to the Admissions office so the financial aid office can request Admissions office to evaluate your transcripts. Your Satisfactory Academic Progress will be recalculated after the transcript evaluation, and your financial aid offer may be revised according to the evaluation result.  You can only receive financial aid from one school per term.  Concurrently receiving financial aid from more than one school will create an overpayment and will result in being billed for the financial aid funds overpaid.

New Cal Grant Entitlement  – You must confirm your high school diploma status with the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) if you haven’t already done so.  You can do this online at https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/.  CSAC will notify us of your confirmation.

Direct Loans – To apply for a Federal Direct Student Loan, you must complete the loan request form and submit it to our office as soon as possible before the deadline.  You must complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) and the Student Loan Entrance Counseling online at www.studentaid.gov before you submit the loan request form.  Student Loan Exit Counseling is also required once you cease below 6 units or stop attending Santa Ana College. Exit Counseling can be done online at www.studentaid.gov.  The deadline to submit a loan request form and all required documents for loan processing for fall 2022 is 11/18/2022, and for spring 2023 is 5/12/2023.  If you have turned in a loan request but have not turned in all required documents for loan processing by the deadlines, we will assume that you have changed your mind and your Direct Loan Request will be canceled. You must maintain at least half-time (6 approved units) enrollment and meet all federal aid requirements to be eligible for the Direct Loan program.
