Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement Policies

Students at Santa Ana College may be awarded units of credit for Advanced Placement Exam passed with a score of 3, 4, or 5. Although credit awarded through advanced placement may be used to satisfy Santa Ana College graduation requirements, it cannot be used to satisfy the twelve unit residency requirement. Students who have earned credit from an AP exam should not take a comparable college course since credit will not be granted for both. Submit official copies of Advance Placement Examination test scores to the Admissions and Records office for evaluation. Students are strongly advised to check with a SAC counselor and/or the Admissions Office of their transfer campus to determine how the AP exam will be used to meet requirements at their transfer institution as policies may differ from SAC.
