Operations for Fall 2012/Spring 2013
Lab
The Writing Center serves as the lab for English N60, English 061, EMLS 112 students. Students in these classes must
sign up in the Writing Center for the hour each week they will attend
the lab class (available hours always begin at the top of the hour: 9AM,
10AM, 11AM, etc.). During the lab class, students will complete
Directed Learning Activities (DLAs) created by their professors.
Students may not work on class work during their scheduled lab time.
*IMPORTANT*
Writing Center lab attendance is MANDATORY for the first two weeks of the semester for ALL English N60, English 061, and EMLS 112 sutents.
Failure to attend the Writing Center for 1 hour EACH WEEK of the first two weeks will result in the student being dropped from his or her English N60, English 061, or EMLS 112 course.
This means that students must attend the
Writing Center lab for a total of 1 hour (60 minutes) EACH WEEK of the
first two weeks (2 hours total). Students do not have to complete all
60 minutes in one session, but by the end of the first week, students
must have attened a total of at least 1 hour, and by the end of the
second week, students must have attended a total of at least 2 hours.
To earn the 10% credit in you English or EMLS class, you must continue to attend the Writing Center one hour each week for the rest of the semester.
Tutoring
Unfortunately, for the 2012/2013 academic year, the Writing Center will not be able to offer one-on-one drop-in consultations. Please consult your professor for assistance with your assignments.
