International Student Mentoring Program (ISMP)
The Santa Ana College International Student Mentoring Program (ISMP) is an extension of the International Student Association (ISA) that helps incoming international students adjust to life in the United States. ISMP is open to students of all nationalities outside of the United States as well as to U.S. citizens who have spent a substantial part of their lives abroad. The mission of the program is to foster a supportive international community that hosts activities, discussions, and events geared toward fulfilling international students’ unique needs.
ISMP provides an opportunity for returning students to engage in a mentor-mentee partnership. Mentors are returning students who have experience with the International Student Program, knowledge relating to common issues, and are enthusiastic about befriending and supporting new, incoming students. As mentors, returning students are relied upon to answer mentee questions, introduce new students to campus life at Santa Ana College, provide academic, emotional, and social support and serve as role models.
If you are interested in taking part in the ISMP, or if you have any questions regarding the program, please e-mail us.
